Diploma – Osteopathic Manipulative Science

This program 4 years long. Each year having a clinical and theoretical portion. It is offered in a modified attendance format offering classes over the weekends to minimize your away time. Program start dates are in October or April.
Course Overview
- Osteopathic Theory – The foundations of all clinical work must start with a full understanding of osteopathic theory and principles. Students will truly understand the thinking behind the doing, we stress problem solving as the building blocks to a successful practice. The CAO is different in this way, we don’t believe in short cuts or quick fixes. You need to know exactly what you’re doing and your patients deserve the best.
- Human Sciences – Our students learn all the sciences from Anatomy to Radiology in order to gain a complete understanding how and why our osteopathic principles are applied. This will make your therapeutic skills incredibly effective and most of all safe.
- Osteopathic Practice – We teach every conceivable technique and method known to manual practice. We can do that because we demystify manipulation by teaching you the science behind how techniques work, not just memorizing endless pictures of manipulations. This gives you the tools to create techniques for a specific clinical problem. We stress a very specific approach that is tailored not only to the client but also to the therapist – this allows you to work with less effort and fatigue thus improving your clinical results.
- Supervised Clinical Practice – If you’re going take your therapeutic skills to the highest of levels then you need time and clinical supervision. Our Building has newly renovated modern classrooms and clinic space and we’re always there to help – just come in and practice what you’ve been taught and gain clinical confidence. As a student of the CAO you will have unlimited clinical and tutorial support from the staff and faculty. We truly want you to succeed.
