Students and faculty have provided over 30,000 free treatments to the community of Hamilton, ON
At the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, we’re proud to offer free osteopathic treatments to the community provided at our not-for-profit student clinic days.
Osteopathy is a non-invasive, safe, and effective approach to a variety of issues, and can help with problems such as back, neck, and shoulder pain, headaches, fatigue, chronic pain, and more. Osteopathic Manual Practitioners do this through restoring proper structure of the body so it can self-heal and self-regulate and function optimally.
The CAO’s FREE Student Clinic days provide free osteopathic treatment to the communities of Hamilton, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta. Osteopathic care is available in 30-minute appointment slots. Our students practice their skills on patient volunteers and are supervised by professional Osteopathic Manual Practitioners.
The CAO has provided over 100,000 FREE treatments across its clinics. That adds up to over 8 million dollars in osteopathic care given to our local communities!
Patient volunteers can come to the clinic for an assessment or for ongoing care. CAO students give back to the community while progressing through their education at the school and developing their clinical skills in an environment that benefits everyone.

I actually started at McMaster with my kinesiology degree, spent some time working with some physios. I just really wasn’t liking some of the answers I was getting, so I spent some time with an osteopath, and I really just appreciated the thought process and the principle-based understanding of osteopathy, and I, for the first time, started to see patients getting better, and to me, that spoke volumes.
