The Institute of Advanced Osteopathic Studies is the post-graduate arm of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO), dedicated to supporting alumni in their ongoing professional growth. Through a range of advanced courses, the Institute provides CAO-trained osteopathic practitioners with opportunities to refine their assessment skills and techniques, ensuring they continue to excel in clinical practice.

Demystifying Technique Series - Muscle Energy Technique
The demystifying technique series will deconstruct the physical mechanisms that govern all approaches. These courses will bridge the gap between anatomy and physiology to understand the application of mechanical principles in treatment and not only in theory.
Understanding any modality in terms of principle and function through applied anatomy will liberate practitioners from the rote application of protocol and encourage them to fashion their own tissue specific tools in relation to the osteopathic lesion complex.
