Osteopathy is the perfect career path for anyone seeking a rewarding and fulfilling way to spend their days. As facilitators of health, osteopathy professionals work to address any pain and discomfort in their patients’ bodies through a holistic approach, applying important principles of the human body to their manual work on the patient. When a patient’s body system is addressed as a whole, they are able to rapidly see improvements in their daily feeling and function.
Canadian Academy of Osteopathy offers a four-year comprehensive education program that certifies graduates to practice as osteopathy professionals and prepares students for a successful future as they open their own practices upon program completion. Even individuals with no prior healthcare experience are able to thrive through our thorough training and 1000+ hours of clinical experience.
Get Up to Speed With Our PREP Course
For anyone with limited or no healthcare experience, CAO offers a PREP Course that is designed to get you up to speed before you pursue the program at our osteopathy school. This PREP Course helps students learn and review essential anatomy and physiology material, and sets them up to be able to apply to Year 1 of our osteopathy program.
At CAO, we understand that whether or not you have a background in healthcare, osteopathy is a brand new language and requires a new way of thinking for everyone. Our PREP Course is tried and tested to allow students to begin courses in our four-year program on a level playing field. Having the tools you need to succeed is important to our faculty and staff, and our PREP Course is one way we provide that for our students.
Transition Your Career While Working Full-Time
As a working professional trying to transition into a different field for a more rewarding career, it can be hard to navigate additional schooling with an already busy schedule with work, family, and other obligations. CAO’s osteopathy program is flexible in order to accommodate students who are already working full-time and are dedicated to a career transition.
The scheduling for our osteopathy program differs depending on the semester. In the classroom semester, students attend live online lectures on Zoom for 3 out of the 5 days and come into school the remaining 2 days for hands-on training. During the clinical semester, clinical days are lumped together for the convenience of students. We also want to accommodate students who are commuting from a significant distance, so they will have priority in scheduling their clinical shifts to further help with convenience.
Stay On Top of Your Studies With Student Support Services
We know that distanced learning can sometimes sound disconnected, but CAO offers the highest quality student support services to ensure the success of our students. There are plenty of support systems available at CAO’s community-centered campus to help you adjust to taking on a full course load.
When you become a student at our osteopathy academy in Canada, you will gain access to a Student Success Coordinator on campus who will be able to address any concerns you have about your experience as a student. You will also have the added opportunity to form connections with classmates as you develop both your academic and personal skills throughout the course of the program. Passionate faculty will keep every course engaging and interactive, and hearing from experts in their field about their own experiences, as well as the success of their past students, will give you the tools you need to kickstart your new career after graduation.
